XRP Faces $1.25 Support as Solana Could Close Market-Cap Gap

XRP remains larger than Solana by market value, but a new analyst forecast says SOL could overtake XRP by the end of 2027. On Oct. 26, Solana’s market value was about $60.4 billion, compared with XRP’s $82.5 billion. Analyst Alex Carchidi says Solana’s activity in tokenized assets, fees and decentralised finance supports the possibility of a flip. He also noted that XRP’s lead could become harder to overcome if the XRP Ledger exceeds $2 billion in tokenized assets in early 2027. XRP traded near $1.30 on Oct. 29, down about 3% that morning and 13% over the past month. It is below its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, clustered around $1.36–$1.37. The key support area is near $1.25; a break could expose the next floor around $1.05. Resistance sits near $1.40, followed by $1.49. RSI near 42 signals weak momentum, while a bullish MACD crossover offers an early, unconfirmed sign that selling pressure may be easing. Traders are watching whether buyers defend support or reclaim resistance.
Bearish
The near-term bias is bearish for XRP. Price is below both the 50-day and 200-day moving averages, has fallen about 13% over the month, and is approaching support near $1.25. A decisive break below that level could trigger stop-loss selling and expose the $1.05 area, while also narrowing XRP’s market-cap lead over SOL. The RSI reading of about 42 remains weak but is not oversold, so it does not rule out further losses. The MACD crossover suggests selling pressure may be fading, but similar momentum signals often fail when price remains beneath major moving averages; traders typically look for stronger volume and a close above resistance before treating them as a reversal. The outlook is not uniformly negative. Holding $1.25 and reclaiming the $1.40 area could ease short-term pressure, with $1.49 the next notable hurdle. Longer term, the forecast that SOL could overtake XRP may encourage relative-value trading and attention to network usage metrics. Solana’s reported advantage in fees and tokenized assets could support that narrative, but forecasts are not guarantees, and XRP’s own tokenization growth could alter the comparison. As in previous crypto market-cap rotation debates, price moves can be amplified by sentiment and broad market conditions. Overall, the technical setup and downside risk favor a bearish classification, while support defense and confirmed buying would weaken that view.
