XRP Holds Near $1.30 as ETF Flows and Institutional Moves Shift

XRP briefly fell below $1.30 during a broad crypto sell-off, then recovered. Analyst Ali Martinez identified $1.25 as potential support and said a rebound could target $1.42, with $1.60 possible if momentum strengthens. He also cited technical buy signals that may point to a local bottom. ChartNerd said a break above $1.50 would be needed to bring $1.80 and $2 into focus. These levels are not guarantees, and XRP remains vulnerable to wider market volatility. US spot XRP ETFs recorded $740,410 in net inflows on October 14, after three days with no net flows. The inflows went to Bitwise’s fund, taking the month’s total to $12.8 million. Earlier, the funds had attracted $11.31 million over a week, but demand has since cooled. Ripple is expanding its institutional services. Ripple Prime added swap financing for leveraged ETF strategies following an expanded partnership with Brevan Howard. Standard Chartered began offering custody for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin through its Dubai branch, in collaboration with LMAX Group. XRP treasury firm Evernorth, which holds about 473 million XRP, listed on Nasdaq on October 12 and named Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo as execution partners. It plans to deploy its holdings in institutional strategies from the fourth quarter of 2026. Separately, the XRP Ledger Foundation said a critical integer overflow bug present since 2015 was fixed in xrpld 3.4.1 on September 25. The flaw could theoretically have enabled excess XRP issuance, but no additional tokens were created; supply remains about 99.986 billion XRP.
Neutral
The near-term price picture is mixed. XRP’s recovery from below $1.30, the potential $1.25 support and technical buy signals may encourage dip-buying. However, ETF demand has cooled, the latest inflow was modest, and XRP still faces resistance near $1.50 amid broader market volatility. These factors limit the strength of a short-term bullish case. Over the longer term, Ripple’s institutional services, RLUSD custody support and Evernorth’s planned XRP strategies may improve perceptions of utility and institutional access. The resolution of the ledger bug also removes a technical risk, while the Foundation’s confirmation that no extra XRP was created reduces supply-related concern. These developments are supportive but do not guarantee buying demand or price appreciation, so the overall impact on XRP is neutral.
