XRP Launches Official X Account with Ripple and XRPL Foundation
XRP has launched its first official X account, more than 14 years after the XRP Ledger began operating. Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation jointly manage @XRP, which debuted on 19 October with a welcome post and video. The account reportedly gained about 33,000 followers in its first two hours and more than 47,000 within hours, giving XRP a dedicated channel separate from Ripple’s corporate communications.
The launch does not change XRP Ledger governance, token distribution or circulating supply. Protocol amendments remain subject to the network’s validator-based process, and the account’s managers cannot change transaction rules through social media. The account may provide an official source for ecosystem news and help users spot impersonation scams, but no network upgrade or direct price catalyst was announced.
The launch comes ahead of Ripple Swell 2026 in New York on 27–29 October. Other recent developments include Cross River Bank adding support for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin and Ripple-backed Evernorth listing on Nasdaq as XRPN. Evernorth holds about 473 million XRP and plans to deploy capital from its holdings in the fourth quarter of 2026. These developments may support visibility and interest in the XRP ecosystem, but the X account launch itself does not signal a change in XRP’s fundamentals.
Neutral
The launch may increase XRP’s visibility and give traders and users a clearer source for official ecosystem updates. The rapid follower growth could generate short-term attention or modest speculative activity, but social media engagement alone does not establish sustained demand for XRP. Neither summary reports a protocol upgrade, change to token supply, new utility or other direct change to XRP’s market fundamentals. In the longer term, the account could help communication and scam awareness, while related developments such as RLUSD support and Evernorth’s XRP holdings may shape broader ecosystem sentiment. Their effects on XRP’s price are uncertain and are separate from the account launch. With no direct price catalyst identified, the expected impact on XRP is neutral.
