Sui and Samsung Wallet Plan Fee-Free USDC Transfers

Sui plans to integrate its network with Samsung Wallet, enabling users to transfer USDC without network fees. The feature is expected to launch in the US during the final week of October 2026 and could reach about 82 million Galaxy devices. The Sui and Samsung Wallet integration may make stablecoin payments more accessible, but no user adoption figures or plans for availability outside the US have been confirmed.

PAPER Transfer Freeze Triggers Trading Retreat

PaperTrade says its PAPER token will remain non-transferable indefinitely, with no timetable for wallet transfers or secondary-market trading. The platform says the restriction is meant to prevent attackers from shorting PAPER, manipulating its price and draining the protocol’s liquidity pool. PAPER currently has no open spot market, although Hyperliquid settled related open perpetual positions at $0.026296 after Paragon and Aster halted pre-market PAPER contracts. The announcement coincided with a sharp pullback: PaperTrade’s BTC open interest fell 41% to $230 million, ETH open interest dropped 55% to $66.3 million, and about 7% of funds flowed out, leaving $58.3 million in total value locked. The declines raise questions about whether some users were trading mainly to earn PAPER rewards. Of 23,675 accounts, about 3,500 were profitable; Lookonchain reported that 21 of the 25 biggest loss-making traders remained in the red even after staking rewards. PaperTrade launched synthetic BTC and ETH perpetuals with up to 1,000x leverage and has reported more than $1 trillion in notional volume. That figure reflects leveraged position size, not user deposits. Traders earn PAPER when they realize losses or are liquidated. The initial issuance rate was 100 PAPER per $1 lost and is scheduled to decline as the liquidity pool grows beyond $2 million. Stakers can receive USDC distributions from protocol fees and surplus gains above a $5 million soft cap; reported staking participation has been 94%–98%. PaperTrade plans to adjust issuance to reduce early users’ advantage, but PAPER has no supply cap. Any future transfer opening could therefore bring selling pressure, while disabled transfers leave holders without a secondary-market exit. The token’s value proposition also depends on protocol activity and trader losses, which may weaken if trading declines. For traders, the latest outflows and falling open interest signal that PaperTrade needs to attract sustainable trading demand beyond token incentives.

Ramp Seeks US Trust Bank Charter for Crypto Custody

Ramp has applied to the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for a national trust bank charter. If approved, Ramp National Trust Bank could provide digital-asset custody and fiduciary investment management under federal supervision, but could not accept deposits or make commercial loans. The application remains under review, with no approval timeline announced. Ramp says its existing checking and investment accounts hold more than $5 billion in customer balances, managed through separate financial partners. Those balances are not digital assets held in custody, and Ramp has not identified which assets it may support or when a service could launch. Its current banking and investment arrangements are unchanged. The company is valued at $60 billion and reports a $2 billion annualised revenue run rate, serving more than 85,000 teams. The filing joins applications by Circle, Ripple, Paxos, BitGo, Rain, Payward and Zerohash. It comes as the Independent Community Bankers of America challenges the OCC’s authority to charter national trust banks. For crypto traders, the application signals potential growth in federally supervised institutional custody, but it is an early regulatory step and does not yet establish new custody services or a direct price catalyst for any named cryptocurrency.

JPM Coin Expands to Ethereum Mainnet

JPMorgan’s Kinexys has expanded JPM Coin (JPMD), its tokenised US dollar deposit, from Base to Ethereum mainnet. The move gives eligible institutional clients another public blockchain option for transferring funds and settling transactions. Kinexys cited Ethereum’s on-chain liquidity, tokenised-asset ecosystem and established settlement infrastructure. JPMD is a permissioned bank deposit token, not a conventional stablecoin. It represents a claim on JPMorgan, and holders should not assume that every token earns interest or is protected by deposit insurance. JPMorgan has not disclosed Ethereum transaction volumes, active users or circulating supply; a third-party tracker showed zero supply at some points on launch day. The bank has also not provided a mainnet contract address or launch date in the earlier report. Kinexys says its platform has processed more than $4 trillion cumulatively and handles about $7 billion in daily activity, figures that are not specific to JPMD. JPMorgan has also launched a tokenised money-market fund on Ethereum. These initiatives could support institutional payments and tokenised-asset settlement, but adoption, liquidity and regulation will determine their scale. The expansion is a positive signal for Ethereum’s role in financial infrastructure, but current data does not show a measurable increase in ETH demand.

Anthropic IPO Could Put Schmidt’s Stake Near $20B

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt reportedly owns nearly 1% of Anthropic, based on an investment made during the AI company’s 2021 Series A round, when it was valued at $461 million. The holding’s exact size and whether Schmidt still owns all of it have not been confirmed. At Anthropic’s latest reported private valuation of $965 billion, the stake could be worth about $10 billion. If the company reaches a $2 trillion valuation in its anticipated IPO, it could be worth around $20 billion. These are estimates, not realized returns. Anthropic raised $65 billion in a May 2026 Series H round. It reportedly generated $16.8 billion in third-quarter revenue, up about 45% from the previous quarter, and may have reached adjusted profitability. IPO marketing could begin as early as 9 November, with trading potentially starting before US Thanksgiving or by year-end. The Anthropic IPO will test investor demand for highly valued AI companies. Its final valuation and the plans of major shareholders, including Google and Amazon, are key factors to watch. The listing may influence sentiment across technology stocks, but it has no direct, specified impact on cryptocurrency prices.

Pump.fun Adds Pre-IPO Tokens Through PreStocks

Pump.fun has partnered with PreStocks to list eight pre-IPO tokens linked to OpenAI, Anthropic, Anduril, Neuralink, Figure AI, Kalshi, Polymarket and Oura. The launch expands Pump.fun’s trading options, and users can create new tokens paired with the private-company-linked assets, building on the platform’s custom trading-pair feature introduced on 9 October. The tokens do not represent direct ownership in the companies or provide shareholder rights. Their backing may involve vehicles, funds, custody arrangements, derivatives, or cash and token reserves, meaning token prices can diverge from company valuations. The products are unavailable in the US and some other jurisdictions. For Pump.fun, the new markets could attract trading activity and generate fees that may support PUMP buybacks. However, the launch’s impact on PUMP will depend on sustained volume and trader demand; the tokens’ risks and access restrictions may limit adoption. The partnership also reflects crypto platforms’ broader shift towards multi-asset trading, with Pump.fun adding markets through an external provider.

XRP Ledger Cleanup Fix Nears Activation; Lending Lags

The XRP Ledger’s fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment is nearing activation, while proposed lending features remain short of validator approval. An earlier update reported 30 votes from 36 trusted validators; by October 19, the amendment had 29 votes from 35 validators, still above the required 80% threshold. It is projected to activate at 09:34 UTC on October 23 if support remains above that level through the 14-day voting period. A fall to 80% or below would reset the countdown, and the flag ledger’s recorded vote will determine activation. The technical cleanup addresses issues across XRPL functions, including a PaymentBurn permission bug that could unintentionally create tokens. Meanwhile, LendingProtocol and LendingProtocolV1_1 each have 19 votes, and Single Asset Vault has 21—short of the 29-vote requirement. The proposed lending system would fund fixed-term, uncollateralized loans with depositor funds, with brokers managing vaults and repayments. Credit checks would occur off-chain, and the design does not include automated on-chain collateral or liquidation; documentation also warns that first-loss capital does not remove depositor risk. Confidential Transfer has 22 votes, while transaction batching activated on October 9. The XRP Ledger cleanup is a technical update; lending approval could have broader implications for network activity, but no lending proposal has passed.

MSTR Golden Cross Nears as Bitcoin Holds Above $80,000

Strategy (MSTR), formerly MicroStrategy, is nearing a golden cross, with its 50-day moving average approaching a move above its 200-day average. The signal could form as soon as Monday, marking the company’s third golden cross since it began buying Bitcoin in 2020. Bitcoin confirmed its own golden cross on 8 September and has since gained nearly 5%, trading near $82,000 after earlier reaching more than $87,000. Strategy holds about $69.81 billion in Bitcoin, and its shares can amplify Bitcoin’s price moves, potentially drawing short-term trader interest if the MSTR golden cross is confirmed. The two previous post-2020 MSTR golden crosses preceded major rallies, with shares rising 717% after the 2020 signal and 1,774% after the 2023 signal. However, the broader record is mixed: of 19 golden crosses since 1999, only 10 were followed by a higher share price 12 months later, and the median return was 3.3%. The crossover is therefore a possible momentum signal, not a guarantee of gains. For Bitcoin traders, holding above $80,000 may matter more, while Strategy-specific concerns—including possible MSCI index exclusion and a shareholder vote on its STRC preferred-stock dividend plan—could also affect MSTR.

Bitcoin Miners’ AI Pivot Hit by Nscale Power Delay

Microsoft has dropped plans for a 50-megawatt AI data centre in Loughton, Essex, that was to be operated by Nscale, a company spun out of Bitcoin mining. UK Power Networks warned that sufficient grid power may not be available until the early to mid-2030s, well beyond the site’s planned 2027 launch. The facility was intended to support Microsoft Azure with 23,040 Nvidia chips. Nscale has removed its equipment and is exploring alternative power options, while saying its other Microsoft contracts remain in place. The setback highlights electricity access as a major risk for Bitcoin miners pivoting to AI data centres. UK data centre connection requests total about 73 gigawatts. CoinShares data cited in the article says miners have contracted more than 4 gigawatts of AI capacity, but only about 550 megawatts are generating revenue. The reported contract backlog exceeds $100 billion, against roughly $1 billion in annualised AI revenue. AI facilities are estimated to cost $8 million to $15 million per megawatt to build, compared with about $700,000 to $1 million for Bitcoin mining sites. The Nscale delay underscores the gap between Bitcoin miners’ AI ambitions and their ability to secure power, bring capacity online and generate income. It may increase financing pressure on companies pursuing the transition, but the development has no clear direct effect on Bitcoin’s price.

PAPER Staking Offsets $9.79M Loss, Adds $1.04M Profit

Lookonchain reports that address 0x26b6 traded on PaperTrade only on its launch day, recording $10.1 billion in volume and a reported $9.79 million loss. The trader received 252 million PAPER tokens, stopped trading and continued staking them. Staking rewards reportedly offset the trading loss and generated a further $1.04 million in profit, although the reports do not specify the rewards’ timing or value breakdown. An earlier report put the trader’s net loss at about $637,000 after $1.07 million in USDC staking rewards, of which $943,000 had been claimed and roughly $130,000 remained unclaimed. The reported figures differ, and the available information does not reconcile them. The case shows how PAPER staking rewards can materially change trading returns, while the large token allocation may raise questions about concentration and liquidity. It does not, on its own, signal a broader market trend.

AI Stocks Rise as US Market Signals Shift

AI stocks broadly rose in both reports, although the market picture shifted. The earlier report said SoundHound AI gained 7.95%, with The Trade Desk, EPAM, ServiceNow and Atlassian also advancing. The Dow rose 1.08%, the S&P 500 gained 0.33% and the Nasdaq added 0.08%, while the VIX fell 2.43%. In the later report, Twilio led the named AI stocks with a 5.29% gain, followed by Amazon, Palantir, EPAM and Marvell. The Nasdaq rose 1.11% and the S&P 500 gained 0.41%, while the Dow slipped 0.07% and the VIX fell 7.75%. Both updates noted that MSX offers tokenised exposure to hundreds of assets, including US stocks and ETFs. The rise in AI stocks may support broader risk appetite, but neither report provides a direct signal for cryptocurrency prices.

Hyperliquid Retail Traders Lose $280M as Fees Bite

An analysis of nearly 400,000 wallets trading Hyperliquid perpetual futures through six retail apps estimates cumulative losses of about $280 million. Since 10 November 2025, users lost around $126 million through these apps, with fees accounting for more than half of the losses. App-added Builder Fees on top of Hyperliquid’s trading fees make frequent trading especially costly for small accounts, which commonly deposited only $30–$60. Bitcoin (BTC) made up nearly half of trading volume and was the largest source of losses; BTC trading fees alone exceeded users’ net gains from closed positions. HIP-3 markets, including oil, silver and gold, also became a major trading category. Monthly active traders rose sharply from November to September, driven largely by Invo and fomo, but retention remained weak: about half of monthly active users were new, and only around one in seven new traders remained active after three months. The findings suggest Hyperliquid’s retail growth relies heavily on continued user acquisition, while turnover, fees and liquidations continue to erode trader capital.

TSMC Q3 Results Beat Estimates as AI Chip Demand Surges

TSMC reported record third-quarter revenue and beat company and Wall Street expectations, with profits up 69%, according to the latest article. The earlier report said TSMC had also exceeded earnings and revenue estimates for 14 consecutive quarters, although its shares fell after results. Both reports attribute the chipmaker’s performance to strong AI demand; the newer report also highlights high-performance computing chips and estimates TSMC holds about 73% of the global foundry market. The newer article says TSMC trades at 17.6 times forward earnings, above its three-year average, but argues that long-term AI infrastructure investment and potential margin expansion could support further growth. A possible decline in gross margins remains a risk. For crypto traders, TSMC’s results may inform sentiment around AI-related technology and semiconductor demand, but neither report identifies a direct effect on cryptocurrency prices.

Goldman Upgrades CoreWeave as Debt Risks Persist

Goldman Sachs upgraded CoreWeave (CRWV) from Neutral to Buy on October 19, while cutting its price target to $106 from $139. The new target still implies about 73% upside from the previous close, after CoreWeave shares fell roughly 25% in a week and 43% since its second-quarter results. The AI infrastructure provider reported $2.58 billion in second-quarter revenue, up from $1.21 billion a year earlier, but posted a $626 million net loss. Debt neared $52 billion by the end of June; unsecured bond yields reached 15%, and credit default swaps rose above 1,000 basis points. Goldman cited CoreWeave’s roughly $104 billion revenue backlog, contracted power capacity and long-term customer agreements, including its deal with Meta. Analyst Gabriela Borges said most borrowing is GPU-backed and estimated that higher financing costs would add 100–200 basis points. The upgrade may support a recovery in CoreWeave shares, but traders will watch credit spreads, debt costs and backlog conversion. Heavy debt, ongoing losses and customer concentration remain key risks. The news concerns a publicly traded company, not a cryptocurrency, and provides no direct crypto price signal.

HYPE Is Multicoin Capital’s Largest Hedge-Fund Holding

Multicoin Capital has confirmed that Hyperliquid’s HYPE is its largest hedge-fund holding, according to an October 19 Bloomberg interview. The firm manages about $2.7 billion and says it built its HYPE position through public-market purchases, but it has not disclosed the holding’s size or portfolio weight. Multicoin said in June that HYPE was among its largest liquid-fund investments and that it had been accumulating the token since early 2026. The firm’s thesis is that Hyperliquid could expand beyond crypto derivatives into a broader financial exchange, including markets such as commodities and equity indexes. Its June research outlined 2028 valuation scenarios ranging from $109 to $689 per HYPE, with a $319 base case; the later account described a conditional valuation above $319 based on projected earnings and assumed token supply. These are modelled scenarios, not guaranteed price targets. On-chain reports also linked Multicoin wallets to transfers of HYPE to Coinbase Prime, including 130,331 tokens worth $12.15 million on September 24. Such transfers do not confirm a sale, and the available information does not establish the fund’s current holdings. The disclosure may support sentiment around HYPE, but the undisclosed position size and uncertain transaction details mean traders cannot infer immediate buying or selling pressure. Multicoin’s continued focus on digital assets also contrasts with some rival funds’ moves into AI and robotics.

Nvidia-Germany Industrial AI Partnership Advances

Germany has moved from exploring a partnership with Nvidia to signing a letter of intent to develop industrial AI. Announced in Berlin on October 19, 2026, the agreement builds on existing cooperation and a €1 billion Nvidia-Deutsche Telekom project to expand AI computing capacity. The planned Industrial AI Cloud is expected to use about 10,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, potentially increasing Germany’s AI computing capacity by roughly 50%. Nvidia will provide chips, software and engineers, while Germany will coordinate participating companies and provide funding expected to reach the high hundreds of millions of euros. Around a dozen firms, including Siemens and Audi, are expected to help develop specialized, open AI models for industrial uses such as product design, robotics and digital simulations. The partners say data and applications will remain under German control, supporting Berlin’s digital-sovereignty goals and access to AI tools for smaller manufacturers. The Nvidia-Germany initiative remains at the letter-of-intent stage: funding is not formally committed, and company participation and project milestones are not final. For crypto traders, the announcement has no direct link to cryptocurrency prices; its significance is primarily for Nvidia’s AI business and Europe’s technology sector.

BitMine Adds ETH as Treasury Value Falls to $15.1B

BitMine Immersion Technologies added 12,535 ETH in the week to October 18, bringing its treasury to 6,041,481 ETH, about 4.9% of Ethereum’s 122.1 million-token supply. Despite the purchase, BitMine’s crypto, cash and marketable securities, and other investments fell in value to $15.1 billion from $16.2 billion a week earlier, as ETH was valued at $2,365. Cash and marketable securities declined for a fourth consecutive week to $582 million. The company also holds 215 BTC and investments in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings. BitMine reported that 5,067,309 ETH was staked. Chairman Tom Lee estimated this could generate about $309 million in annual revenue at a 2.58% yield, rising to $369 million if the full ETH treasury were staked. The estimates are company projections; BitMine operates the institutional staking platform MAVAN. Lee attributed weaker risk appetite to geopolitical tensions, election uncertainty, rising bond yields and concerns about AI funding and safety. He said selling in AI-related stocks had spread to markets in South Korea and Taiwan, adding pressure to crypto. BitMine’s latest release also removed an earlier statement that it was largely finished buying ETH, without explaining the change. Lee described the market pullback as a potential opportunity, but macroeconomic uncertainty and the decline in treasury value remain relevant risks for ETH traders.

Semiconductor Stocks Slide as AI Financing Fears Grow

Semiconductor stocks have fallen sharply as investors reassess AI spending and financing risks. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX) lost about 16% over eight consecutive sessions, its longest losing streak since October 2008, and is down roughly 24% since mid-June. By comparison, the S&P 500 has gained about 2%, while the SOX-to-S&P 500 ratio reached 1.45, its lowest since April 2026. The ratio nevertheless remains 142% above its 2022 bear-market low. All 30 SOX constituents fell on 16 October. Arm lost about 7%, while Broadcom, Micron, AMD, Intel, Lam Research and KLA each dropped around 5%. The broader sell-off has erased more than $1 trillion from semiconductor and AI-linked companies. CoreWeave shares fell about 25% in five sessions, and its bond yields rose above 15%. Investors fear that higher borrowing costs could constrain debt-funded AI data-centre expansion and future chip orders. Hotter-than-expected US inflation has revived concerns that interest rates will stay elevated. The decline follows a rally that lifted the SOX more than 60% in 2026, and reported earnings have not yet shown clear evidence of weaker chip demand. Traders are watching hyperscaler capital-spending guidance, AI infrastructure credit risks, inflation and interest rates. For crypto markets, the episode is an indirect risk-off signal: tighter financing and weaker appetite for high-growth technology could pressure speculative assets, although no direct cryptocurrency impact is identified.

CoreWeave Selloff: AI Backlog Meets Rising Debt Risk

CoreWeave (CRWV) has plunged more than 27% in a month and 48% over six months as investors weigh AI-sector bubble fears against the risks of its debt-funded expansion. Credit default swap spreads and bond yields have also risen, pointing to greater concern about financing costs and debt sustainability. A later Seeking Alpha contributor upgraded CoreWeave to Strong Buy, arguing the selloff overstates the risks. The bullish case cites more than $100 billion in backlog, strong demand for GPU capacity, and Nvidia’s roughly 10% stake and strategic relationship with the company. The contributor also calls the shares discounted at 10.6 times forward EBITDA; an earlier analysis cited a forward price-to-sales ratio of 1.3. The thesis depends on CoreWeave converting its backlog into revenue and obtaining cheaper, contract-backed financing. Nvidia support is speculative, not a confirmed plan, and the Strong Buy rating is an individual analyst’s view. For traders, CoreWeave remains a high-growth but financing-sensitive stock; its performance may influence broader AI risk sentiment, but the reports do not identify a direct crypto-market catalyst.

XRP ETFs End 13-Week Inflow Streak With $1.84M Outflow

US spot XRP ETFs recorded $1.84 million in net outflows for the week ending October 16, 2026, ending a 13-week run of inflows that began in July. The reversal was driven mainly by a $2.47 million withdrawal from Canary Capital’s XRPC fund on October 16, while a mid-week gain of about $740,400 provided a partial offset. The weekly outflow was modest compared with roughly $1.8 billion in cumulative XRP ETF inflows since the funds launched in November 2025. XRP traded near $1.30 during the period, while Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana ETFs also saw withdrawals amid broader market volatility. Traders may watch whether future XRP ETF outflows spread across issuers or remain concentrated in one fund; further sustained outflows would offer stronger evidence of weakening demand.

NEAR AI Advances Formal Verification for Core Contracts

NEAR AI is working to make formal verification more accessible, initially targeting the NEAR Protocol and its core smart contracts. Formal verification uses mathematical proofs to check whether software meets defined rules; it complements testing and code review but cannot guarantee complete security. The effort builds on NEAR AI’s reported first-place ranking by total solves on the Lean Eval v1 leaderboard. On PutnamBench, its system solved 672 Lean problems. Reported costs were about $0.17 per problem, while the repository lists $111.85 in model costs for the submission. NEAR cautions that benchmark results do not represent the full cost or effort of verifying production software. Applying formal verification to deployed contracts still requires accurate models, clearly defined properties and proofs that correspond to the implementation. Any guarantees cover only the properties and assumptions checked, so formal verification must work alongside testing, code review and operational security. The initiative reflects broader interest in AI-assisted proofs, including work discussed by Aptos Labs and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. For NEAR traders, it is a potential long-term security development, not an announced deployment or immediate token catalyst.

Public Companies’ Bitcoin Buying Surges to $360M, Led by Strive

Public companies excluding miners reportedly made $360 million in net Bitcoin purchases last week, up 1,500% from two weeks earlier, according to the latest SoSoValue figures. Strive drove more than 90% of the total, buying 4,045 BTC at an average price of $81,734. Strategy bought 267 BTC for about $22.1 million, while The Smarter Web Company acquired 83 BTC for $6.93 million. Bitmine reported a one-BTC purchase, and Metaplanet made no purchase. The latest report puts tracked public-company holdings at 1,161,643 BTC, worth about $95.41 billion, or 5.8% of Bitcoin’s circulating market value. This marks a sharp reversal from an earlier report of $22.5 million in net weekly buying and 1,163,359 BTC in holdings. The updated figures point to stronger corporate Bitcoin demand, although the latest buying surge was heavily concentrated in Strive.

MARA-Linked Wallets Move 1,000 BTC to Exchanges; Sale Unconfirmed

Wallets linked by on-chain analysts to Bitcoin miner MARA Holdings transferred about 1,000 BTC, worth an estimated $82.8 million, to Binance and Gate over five days. The deposits have renewed attention on MARA’s Bitcoin treasury as pressure on mining economics continues. The transfers do not confirm a sale: the Bitcoin could be for custody, collateral, trading inventory or other operational needs, and the staggered movements do not show that the full amount was sold at once. The transfers follow a separate 996 BTC movement to a Galaxy Digital-linked wallet on Oct. 8. MARA also sold about 23,093 BTC for $1.63 billion in the first half of 2026 to support operations and reduce debt, and has previously used Bitcoin as loan collateral. The company has said it may monetize holdings depending on market conditions and capital needs. Traders will be watching for a treasury update or further on-chain evidence; until then, the exchange deposits are a possible source of short-term Bitcoin selling pressure, not proof of a sale.

HRT Interns’ Success Puts Hyperliquid in Focus

A 10-person Hudson River Trading (HRT) intern cohort from 2015 has drawn comparisons to the “PayPal Mafia”: at least four members went on to found unicorn companies. A photo shared by Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang brought attention to former interns Wang, Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan and Cognition CEO Scott Wu. The group’s ventures span AI and crypto. Meta reportedly invested $14.3 billion in Wang’s Scale AI; Cognition, the company behind AI coding tool Devin, is reported to be valued at $48 billion. Yan built Hyperliquid, a decentralized crypto trading platform, with an 11-person team and no outside funding. An earlier account cited more than $900 million in annual profit and a $76 billion market value for Hyperliquid. The reports offer no new product, policy or token developments for Hyperliquid. For crypto traders, the story mainly highlights how quantitative trading talent is moving into digital-asset infrastructure, rather than providing a direct new signal for HYPE.

DarkSword iPhone Exploit Repackaged to Steal Crypto Wallets

SlowMist says the DarkSword iOS exploit chain has been repackaged as a deployable spyware framework targeting iPhone users and cryptocurrency wallets. Code appeared on GitHub in March, and researchers observed attack infrastructure operating from late September. The related DarkSword-PROV2 project reportedly includes exploit code, a delivery server, an administrative panel, a database and theft modules targeting imToken, TokenPocket and TronLink wallets. Its documentation offered a full version for 5,000 USDT. The framework can reportedly be triggered when a user visits a malicious page in Safari. Although the system accepts devices from iOS 13 onward and its library contains more than 1,000 payload entries, SlowMist says the complete exploit chains currently supported by the attackers’ routing code target iOS 18.6–18.7.2 and iOS 26.0–26.1. Broad device labels do not establish that every version can be compromised. In one 30-day period, the control panel recorded 20,187 page visits and 1,187 exploit attempts, with 10 reported successes and data exfiltration in nine cases. SlowMist also reported 57 logged devices across multiple regions. Separately, the exposed panel showed 6,115 visits, 10,125 theft records and 143,802 iOS logs; these figures come from a different reporting context and should not be combined with the 30-day funnel. No victim financial losses were disclosed. SlowMist advises anyone who visited a suspicious page to treat wallet keys and seed phrases as potentially exposed, move funds to a new wallet created on a clean device, and review and revoke unnecessary token approvals. The DarkSword case highlights the risk of public iOS exploits being adapted for crypto wallet theft.

France Protests Escalate as Security Tightens and Curfew Odds Rise

France protests over rising living costs escalated into violence, vandalism and looting in several cities, with unions, students and Yellow Vest activists among those involved. Reports cited arrests and injuries, while demonstrations also reflected concerns about school conditions and declining public services. Authorities have tightened security: President Emmanuel Macron authorised local officials to ban gatherings, and Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu backed local curfews. The government also pledged financial aid to businesses affected by the unrest. A Paris curfew is under consideration, but has not been announced. Polymarket odds cited in the later report put the chance of a Paris curfew at 24.7% by October 19 and 57.5% by October 31—up from 1.1% and 8.5%, respectively, in the earlier report. The earlier report put the odds of a state of siege by January 1, 2027, at 4.2%; the later report said the odds remained below 4% for its listed dates. These are prediction-market estimates, not official decisions. France protests could add to domestic political uncertainty, but neither report identifies a direct cryptocurrency policy change or crypto-market impact. Traders should treat the story as a public-order development rather than a direct signal for digital-asset prices.

Celestia has launched Eden, a high-performance EVM chain designed to test AI-agent commerce and payments. Eden handles transaction execution and ordering, while Celestia provides data availability. It uses TIA for gas and reports 100-millisecond target block times, a 50-million gas limit per block, batch transactions and sponsored gas fees. Eden currently relies on a single sequencer and a private transaction pool, so sequencing remains centralized and does not remove MEV risks. The first experiment is Botfun, a closed test in which AI agents can issue and trade tokens, provide liquidity, and pay for large language model inference through the x402 micropayment protocol. Eden has reportedly processed 2.59 million transactions since testing began in July. Earlier, Botfun reported 516,468 transactions in the week starting July 6, its highest weekly total. Celestia said inference payments briefly made Eden one of the largest x402 chains by transaction count, but the ranking, timeframe and share of transactions that were x402 payments have not been independently verified. Celestia is positioning Eden as a potential source of high-frequency AI activity and added utility for TIA. However, adoption remains experimental, with no independently confirmed user or trading-volume figures. TIA is about 97% below its $21 peak, and recent 24-hour Celestia network fee revenue was reported at just $108. Eden could support TIA demand if usage grows and translates into sustained on-chain activity, but its near-term market impact remains uncertain.
