NFT Sales Slide as Participation and Trading Activity Rise

Global NFT sales weakened over the period, falling 15.28% week on week to $37.54 million by September 19, before the latest seven-day data showed a sharper 23.48% decline to $40.88 million by October 3. The figures indicate continued pressure on dollar demand, even as market activity expanded. In the latest period, buyer addresses rose 28.79% to 206,788, seller addresses increased 31.99% to 197,297, and transactions climbed 8.44% to 863,295. These are blockchain addresses rather than verified individual users. The average NFT sale was approximately $47.35. Earlier data also showed a sharp rise in buyer and seller addresses, but fewer total transactions, suggesting that participation has broadened while spending remains weak. Ethereum remained the leading NFT blockchain. Its latest sales fell 42.01% to $17.08 million, compared with $15.32 million in the earlier period. Polygon rose 12.89% to $8.21 million, while Bitcoin sales dropped 25.56% to $3.83 million. Solana increased 1.96% to $1.95 million. Earlier data had placed Polygon at $7.09 million, Bitcoin at $4.33 million and Solana at $1.89 million. Base was previously one of the few growing networks, although its volume was affected by wash trading alongside Polygon. Courtyard led NFT collections in both reports, with sales rising 15.11% to $7.31 million in the latest period. Its collectibles are linked to custodial physical assets and represented about 17.9% of total NFT sales. Credits ranked second at $2.22 million, while CryptoPunks fell 76.09% to $1.97 million. Panini America recorded the strongest increase, surging 557.53% to $1.87 million. Alchemix V3 Transmuter had earlier jumped 622.03% to $1.83 million, although nearly all of that volume came from eight transactions, including a $770,985 sale. High-value NFT trading remained concentrated on Ethereum. Recent sales included a Beeple Special Edition at about $436,154, a Known Origin NFT at $205,028 and two CryptoPunks at roughly $121,000 each. For traders, the combination of falling NFT sales, rising wallet activity and concentrated collection volume points to weaker organic demand and a mixed market signal. NFT sales should therefore be assessed alongside wash-trading risk and liquidity conditions.

Brazil 2026 Election: Lula Leads Bolsonaro in Tight Race

Brazil 2026 election polling shows President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva narrowly ahead of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro. A Datafolha poll gives Lula 42% and Bolsonaro 38% in the first round, leaving both well below the 50% needed for an outright win and making a runoff likely. Prediction markets still favour Lula to receive the most votes in the first round, with his implied probability at 71.5%, down slightly from 72% a week earlier. Bolsonaro’s probability has risen to 28.5%, although expectations that he will win 36% to 39% of the vote have weakened. Simulated runoff contests remain close. The Brazil 2026 election is a political and macroeconomic risk event for traders. New polls, endorsements, debates and potential scandals could move prediction-market prices, the Brazilian real and emerging-market sentiment. The reports provide no direct cryptocurrency price signal, so the immediate impact on crypto markets is likely to remain limited.

Bitcoin Rally Fades as High Bond Yields Cap Gains

Bitcoin briefly climbed above $85,000, reaching about $85,500, after August US PCE inflation came in below expectations. Core PCE rose 0.2% month on month and 3.0% year on year, below the 3.3% forecast, while headline PCE increased 0.3% month on month and 3.4% year on year. The softer inflation data reduced expectations of another Federal Reserve rate hike in October and strengthened bets on a December rate cut. However, the Bitcoin rally quickly faded as Treasury yields stayed high. Bitcoin later traded near $83,700, up about 0.4% over 24 hours. The US 10-year Treasury yield remained near 5.28%, while the 30-year yield reached 5.62%, its highest level since 2002. Elevated bond yields are supporting safer assets and limiting liquidity flows into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. A sustained decline in real yields may be needed for Bitcoin to resume its advance. Traders should monitor Treasury yields, the US dollar and oil prices. If yields remain elevated, Bitcoin could continue consolidating between $83,000 and $85,000. HYPE and DOGE gained, while SOL declined slightly and other major tokens posted mixed moves.

Vitalik’s Snowmoon Explores Ethereum’s Decentralised Future

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has published Snowmoon, his first original open-source science-fiction novel. The 32-chapter book contains about 103,000 English words and is released under the GPL v3 licence. Buterin said AI was used only for spelling checks, formatting and proofreading, while the plot was created by hand. Snowmoon explores Ethereum-related themes, including zero-knowledge proofs, privacy technology, quadratic voting, decentralised governance and mechanism design. Its fictional society, Veridia, uses taxes, subsidies and reputation systems to influence behaviour instead of relying mainly on broad legal bans. A second storyline follows resistance networks in the occupied country of Dzego, where cryptographic communications and decentralised education support survival under authoritarian rule. The novel’s conclusion examines fixed social objectives, AI-assisted decision-making and how communities can resist authoritarian systems without reproducing them. Snowmoon is primarily a cultural and philosophical project, not a new protocol, token or financial announcement. It could reinforce Ethereum’s long-term governance, privacy and decentralisation narrative, but traders should not treat the release as a direct catalyst for ETH prices.

BLAST Drops 42% as Upbit and Bithumb Issue Warnings

BLAST fell 42% in 24 hours to $0.0002387 after South Korean crypto exchanges Upbit and Bithumb placed the token on their trading caution lists. The warnings indicate heightened exchange monitoring and could lead to further restrictions or delisting, although no such action has been announced. The risk has increased as the Blast project prepares to cease operations. Users have been advised to withdraw assets to the Ethereum mainnet before October 26. Traders should monitor exchange notices, the BLAST withdrawal deadline, liquidity, volatility and trading volume. The warnings and planned shutdown could sustain short-term selling pressure and increase long-term liquidity risk for BLAST.

BNY and Kraken Parent Payward Explore Digital Asset Partnership

BNY, one of the world’s largest custody banks, is in talks with Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, over a broad digital asset partnership. The potential agreement could cover cryptocurrency products, digital asset custody, wealth management, trading, payments and financial market infrastructure. Services would likely be delivered through Payward Services, Payward’s business-to-business platform for banks, exchanges and asset managers. Some proposed infrastructure arrangements may resemble Payward’s recent agreement with Nasdaq. The negotiations remain ongoing, and no final deal or specific products have been announced. A BNY and Payward partnership could improve institutional crypto custody, trading access and payment infrastructure over the long term. However, the absence of a signed agreement means the immediate market impact is likely to remain limited.

USDC Treasury Mints 250 Million USDC on Solana

USDC Treasury minted 250 million USDC on Solana. An earlier report placed the event at around 10:36 UTC on 19 September 2026, while a later report gave a timestamp of 00:23:40 Beijing time on 3 October 2026. The differing timestamps should be verified against on-chain records. The USDC mint increases the amount of USDC issued on Solana, but does not prove that the tokens have entered circulation, reached exchanges or been used to buy crypto assets. Traders should track subsequent wallet transfers, exchange inflows, Solana DeFi activity and USDC liquidity. Sustained circulation could improve Solana trading liquidity and market activity, but the immediate price impact remains uncertain.

Circle Calls for MiCA Stablecoin Reserve Reform

Circle is urging the European Commission to revise MiCA stablecoin rules ahead of the EU’s broader review expected in 2027. The USDC and EURC issuer says MiCA has attracted regulated firms, but only three of the 25 largest stablecoins by market value are currently covered by the framework. Circle wants the EU to preserve “multi-issuance”, allowing an EU-authorised entity and a foreign-regulated partner to issue the same stablecoin. It warned that tighter limits could push stablecoin activity offshore and weaken Europe’s competitiveness. The company also opposes MiCA’s fixed reserve requirements, which require e-money token issuers to hold at least 30% of reserves in commercial bank deposits, rising to 60% for significant tokens. Circle says these rules increase bank and counterparty risk, citing USDC’s temporary depeg after $3.3 billion of reserves were held at Silicon Valley Bank in March 2023. Circle supports liquidity-based standards focused on how quickly reserves can be accessed during redemptions, similar to proposals from the European Central Bank and other central banks. It also wants the EU to reconsider limits on exposure to a single sovereign and bank. Tether has opposed MiCA authorisation partly because of the deposit rules. The short-term trading impact is likely limited, but the MiCA review could influence stablecoin liquidity, exchange support, issuer costs and the long-term position of USDC, EURC and USDT in Europe.

MSCI Review Risks $2.8B Strategy Stock Sell-Off

MSCI is reviewing new screening criteria that could remove Strategy, Metaplanet and uranium holder Yellow Cake from major indexes. The proposed MSCI review may assess whether companies hold a sufficient share of operating assets, but the term is not clearly defined under US GAAP or IFRS. The uncertainty could also affect firms such as AST SpaceMobile and Lithium Americas. JPMorgan estimates that MSCI-linked funds could sell about $2.8 billion of Strategy stock if it is removed. If other index providers follow, potential selling could rise to $8.8 billion. MSCI is expected to announce a decision by 16 October, with any changes potentially taking effect during its December index review. The MSCI review creates a passive-flow risk for Strategy and could increase short-term volatility in MSTR. However, the direct impact on Bitcoin is likely to remain limited unless investors view the move as a broader challenge to corporate Bitcoin treasury companies.

Nvidia Approves Record $150B Share Buyback

Nvidia has approved a record $150 billion increase to its share buyback programme, lifting its remaining repurchase capacity to $235 billion through fiscal 2028. The Nvidia buyback is the largest authorisation of its kind by a public company and signals management confidence in sustained AI and accelerated-computing demand. Nvidia spent $39.8 billion repurchasing shares and paid $6.3 billion in dividends during the first half of fiscal 2027. Second-quarter revenue rose 106% year on year to $96.2 billion, while Data Centre revenue increased 117% to $89 billion. Its shares initially gained more than 2%, although broader market pressure later reduced the advance. The company is also working with financial institutions to mobilise more than $500 billion for AI infrastructure projects. However, lenders remain cautious about accepting GPUs as long-term collateral. Competition from AMD, Intel and custom chips developed by major cloud providers could still pressure Nvidia’s margins and pricing power. For traders, the Nvidia buyback may support NVDA through a lower share count and reflects strong free cash flow. Its impact on cryptocurrency prices is indirect. Crypto markets are more likely to respond through AI-sector sentiment, technology valuations, interest rates and overall risk appetite.

SEC Approves Five-Year Pilot for Tokenized Stock Trading

The SEC has approved a five-year Innovation Exemption for regulated tokenized stock trading on public blockchains. The framework, issued on September 17, 2026, allows permissioned Tokenized Securities Venues to use automated market makers and liquidity pools without registering as exchanges. The tokenized stock trading pilot covers eligible US equities with the same voting, dividend and liquidation rights as the underlying shares. Synthetic stocks and derivatives are excluded. Trading limits are strict. Tier 1 assets are capped at 75 symbols and 0.25% of average daily volume. Tier 2 assets are capped at 250 symbols and 2.5% of average daily volume. Breaching a limit can trigger a three-month suspension. Leverage and lending are prohibited, and onchain trading must stop if the traditional market suspends the underlying stock. Issuers receive a 30-day notice period to object to third-party tokenization. The exemption expires on September 17, 2031, while the SEC collects feedback for permanent rules. The measure could improve regulatory clarity and support blockchain-based securities markets, but permissioned access and limited volumes suggest only a modest short-term effect on crypto trading or market prices.

Crypto Token Buybacks Grow as Value Capture Diverges

Crypto token buybacks are expanding across DeFi, but their effect on token prices depends on how protocols use the purchased assets. Newer mechanisms include Uniswap’s UNI buy-and-burn model, Sky’s allocation of about 55% of surplus to SKY buybacks and 45% to staking rewards, and Aster’s use of 99% of daily platform fees to buy ASTER for veASTER stakers while an equivalent reserve amount is burned. Hyperliquid directs about 99% of relevant trading fees to automated HYPE buybacks and burns. Pump.fun allocates 50% of revenue to buy and burn PUMP. Other protocols use less deflationary models. Jupiter buys and locks JUP, Raydium holds repurchased RAY in its treasury, and Aave relies on a DAO-approved budget rather than a fixed revenue share. Maple directs revenue toward SYRUP, while EtherFi uses fees to buy ETHFI and supports sETHFI holders. Ethena’s ENA buybacks remain conditional on USDe supply thresholds. Lido has proposed LDO buybacks subject to revenue targets. Rollbit has historically bought and burned RLB, while StonkFun and NetNet Capital use buy-and-burn models with additional execution and verification risks. Pendle is also cited among protocols using revenue for buybacks, while Morpho has no active token value-capture mechanism. Traders should distinguish fees from net revenue and confirmed execution from governance proposals. They should compare annual buybacks with market capitalisation, examine burns, treasury holdings, staking distributions, emissions and unlock schedules. Crypto token buybacks may support prices when sustained demand exceeds new supply, but high protocol revenue alone does not guarantee token gains.

HSBC RedCoin Set to Drive Asia Stablecoin Adoption

HSBC RedCoin, HSBC’s Hong Kong dollar stablecoin, is expected to launch through PayMe before the end of 2026. The token will initially support peer-to-peer transfers and merchant payments, with corporate and institutional services planned later. PayMe has about 3.3 million users. HSBC received a stablecoin-related licence in April 2026, making HSBC RedCoin one of the first tokens approved under Hong Kong’s Stablecoins Ordinance. The bank will educate users about fraud prevention, redemption procedures and reserve transparency. A survey of about 1,000 Hong Kong customers found that 26% incorrectly believed stablecoins were government-issued. The launch comes as stablecoin use expands across Asia despite a 6.8% contraction in the wider Central and Southeast Asia and Oceania crypto economy. Chainalysis found that cross-border stablecoin transfers exceeded domestic transfers in every market studied, driven by remittances and business payments. Malaysia recorded the highest ratio, at 29.5 times. Stablecoin adoption is also growing in the UAE, where retailers are testing DDSC, a dirham-backed token for payments. Euro-backed stablecoins have exceeded $900 million in market capitalisation. EURC leads with $527.3 million, followed by EURCV at $171.4 million and EURXT at $62 million. However, euro stablecoins still represent only about 0.3% of the global stablecoin market, valued at roughly $301 billion. These developments strengthen the long-term payments and tokenisation case, but are unlikely to cause an immediate broad crypto price move.

Aptos Hotfix Candidate Moves to Testnet Validators

Aptos Labs first released the v1.49.1 hotfix for mainnet validators to improve consensus and state synchronisation. On 1 October, it followed with the private aptos-node-v1.49.2-hotfix-rc for Aptos testnet validators. Validators must upgrade, while fullnode operators are advised to do so. The new Aptos release is available as binaries or a Docker image, but its source code and technical explanation remain undisclosed. Aptos has not confirmed whether the patch addresses consensus, state synchronisation or a security issue. Unlike a token migration or wallet update, the release does not require any action from ordinary users. For traders, the Aptos hotfix is mainly an infrastructure update. Its short-term price impact is likely to remain limited unless further disclosures reveal a serious network or security problem.

Lazarus Group Linked to Nearly $7.8B in Crypto Theft

The Lazarus Group, the umbrella term for North Korea-linked cyber operations, is increasingly viewed as one of crypto’s biggest security threats. Including the suspected September 2026 Bitget hack, losses linked or strongly attributed to North Korean hackers have approached $7.8 billion. Bitget initially reported losses of about $351.6 million before revising the confirmed transferred assets to $387.5 million. TRM Labs identified overlaps between the laundering routes in the Bitget attack and earlier incidents involving Bybit and AFX Bridge. Elliptic also assessed a North Korea connection as highly likely. The Lazarus Group label covers several activity clusters linked to North Korea’s Reconnaissance General Bureau. BlueNoroff targets banks and crypto companies through social engineering. TraderTraitor focuses on exchanges, custodians, developers and wallet infrastructure. It has been linked to the $1.5 billion Bybit theft, the DMM Bitcoin attack, and incidents involving Atomic Wallet, Alphapo and CoinsPaid. Citrine Sleet, also known as AppleJeus, uses fake wallets, trading software, browser exploits and supply-chain attacks. Famous Chollima infiltrates companies through fake remote IT workers. Major confirmed or government-attributed incidents include the Ronin Bridge, Harmony Horizon Bridge, Upbit, Atomic Wallet and Bybit attacks. Chainalysis reported that North Korea-linked hackers stole about $2 billion in crypto during 2025 alone. For traders, the Lazarus Group threat highlights continuing exchange, custody, software supply-chain and insider-access risks. The news could increase security scrutiny, demand for self-custody and risk premiums across crypto markets.

Fed October Odds Shift Toward Rate Pause, Bitcoin Gains

Fed October odds on Polymarket shifted sharply toward a pause at the Federal Reserve’s 27–28 October meeting. Earlier pricing showed an 84% chance of unchanged rates after comments from New York Fed President John Williams. Later, weaker-than-expected August PCE inflation data pushed the no-change probability to 66%, while the chance of a 25-basis-point hike fell to 34%. Headline PCE rose 3.4% year over year, below the 3.7% forecast, while core PCE increased 3.0%, below the 3.3% estimate. The October contract has attracted roughly $20 million to $23 million in volume. Fed October odds still do not confirm a policy pivot. Polymarket assigns a 74% chance of a 25-basis-point hike in December and a 97% probability of no rate cuts this year. Strong inflation, resilient employment data, rising Treasury yields or hawkish Fed comments could revive hike expectations. Bitcoin was trading near $84,116, up about 1.3% over 24 hours. A near-term pause may support risk appetite, but traders should view the Fed October odds as a market signal rather than official guidance. If tightening is only delayed, financial conditions could remain restrictive and limit sustained gains for Bitcoin.

RWA and Stablecoins Gain Institutional Momentum

RWA and stablecoins showed mixed market performance from 11 September to 2 October 2026, while tokenised finance gained regulatory and institutional momentum. RWA market capitalisation first slipped 0.75% to $38.53 billion, then fell 0.94% month-on-month to $38.55 billion. However, holders increased from 4.436 million to 5.018 million, indicating broader participation. Stablecoin market capitalisation rose from $303.35 billion to $294.04 billion in the later update, while holders and monthly active addresses continued to grow. Monthly transfer volume initially reached $7.03 trillion but later declined 7.67% to $6.82 trillion, pointing to weaker short-term on-chain activity. US regulators expanded the policy framework for tokenised securities. The SEC approved a temporary conditional innovation exemption for selected tokenised NMS stocks, subject to disclosure, record-keeping, transparency, circuit-breaker and volume limits. Regulators later explored one-time zero-knowledge KYC and the CFTC confirmed that eligible tokenised assets and blockchain records could satisfy customer-funds and record-keeping requirements. The ECB outlined three models for putting central-bank money on-chain. Europe’s Pontes project is also expected to support tokenised securities settlement in central-bank money. Adoption advanced across major financial centres. Hong Kong supported tokenised gold and other real-world assets, tested tokenised Exchange Fund Bills, issued about HK$20 billion of digital green bonds and used tokenised Hong Kong dollar deposits for primary settlement. HSBC named its planned Hong Kong dollar stablecoin HSBC RedCoin, initially targeting peer-to-peer and merchant payments. South Korea proposed expanding tokenised securities to stocks, bonds and funds, with implementation expected in February 2027. Institutional infrastructure also expanded. SWIFT and 17 banks tested tokenised deposit payments, while DBS, OCBC and UOB completed Singapore’s first interbank local tokenised deposit transaction. Ondo connected a subsidiary to DTCC Fund/SERV, DTCC invested in iCapital to explore private-market tokenisation, and Stripe-backed Bridge launched OUSD on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo with support from more than 100 companies. DeFi applications are broadening the RWA market. Aave announced an RWA lending market on Avalanche, and Aave V4 launched an Equities Hub on Base, allowing eligible non-US users to use seven tokenised US stocks as collateral for USDC loans. Ethena plans to add tokenised equities to USDe’s delta-neutral yield strategy. Centrifuge launched a tokenised high-yield corporate bond fund with NYLIM. Funding also went to tokenisation and stablecoin infrastructure, including tZERO, Velocity, dtcpay and Fin.com. JPYC’s temporary suspension of Ethereum issuance reservations highlighted pricing, liquidity and mechanism risks. For traders, RWA and stablecoins remain a strong long-term adoption theme, but the latest decline in transfer volume, limited early lending utilisation, and regulatory, liquidity, liquidation and pricing risks create a mixed short-term signal. Near-term price action is therefore likely to depend more on broader crypto liquidity and risk appetite than on adoption headlines alone.

LDK 0.3 RC3 Expands Lightning Splicing and BOLT 12

Rust-Lightning, also known as the Lightning Development Kit (LDK), has advanced its 0.3 release from RC2 to RC3, adding major improvements for Bitcoin Lightning Network developers and node operators. LDK 0.3 expands channel splicing with replace-by-fee (RBF) support, the ability to add and remove funds in one operation, and APIs for tracking pending splices and discarded funding transactions. Anchor channel support has also broadened, while zero-fee HTLC negotiation is now enabled by default. Older pre-anchor channels are expected to be gradually deprecated. The LDK 0.3 release adds LSPS1 support, improves LSPS2 handling, and expands BOLT 12 functionality, including payer proofs, payment metadata and offers for phantom nodes. It also improves HTLC interception, blinded payment paths, routing privacy and forwarded-payment accounting. Asynchronous signing is now available across supported ECDSA channel-signer methods. Storage and reliability upgrades include PaginatedKVStore, FilesystemStoreV2, deferred ChainMonitor writes and faster parallel monitor loading. The release fixes several channel gossip, blockchain reorganisation, funding-tracking and splicing issues. LDK 0.3 requires Rust 1.75 or later. For Bitcoin traders, this is primarily infrastructure news rather than a direct price catalyst. LDK 0.3 could support more reliable Lightning payments and improve Bitcoin’s long-term payments utility, but short-term BTC market impact is likely to be limited. Developers must review migration risks because some BOLT 11 invoices containing payment metadata, unclaimed BOLT 12 refunds and in-flight BOLT 12 payments may become incompatible across versions. Downgrades can also be restricted in cases involving pending splices, asynchronous monitoring and zero-reserve channels.

MEW Updates Add Wallet, Swap and Perps Fixes

MyEtherWallet (MEW) first released version 7.5.0 with usability, portfolio and infrastructure improvements. The update redesigned the access page, added an unconnected portfolio state, improved multi-address controls and introduced per-network balance caching with 75-second refresh intervals. MEW also added monitoring for perpetual futures and market-chart lookback filters, while refining error handling across Ledger, Trezor, WalletConnect, CoinGecko, swaps and trade orders. The newer MEW v7.6.0 builds on that work with fixes for hardware-wallet access, Ledger transport, balance loading and post-trade balance refreshes. It also addresses insufficient-funds errors when swapping a maximum native-asset balance, limits payment review amounts to six decimal places and attempts to fix a 1inch trading issue. Perpetuals receive order auto-fill and balance-update fixes. Additional MEW v7.6.0 changes include safer clipboard handling, invalid-checksum protection for message verification, improved API error processing, localized currency selection, watchlist improvements and fewer unnecessary EIP-6963 provider warnings. For crypto traders, MEW v7.6.0 is mainly a wallet reliability and trading usability update. It may reduce execution friction, but neither MEW release creates a direct bullish or bearish catalyst for the wider crypto market.

Galaxy Digital Adds $100M in sUSDS as Loan Collateral

Galaxy Digital has added $100 million worth of Sky Protocol’s yield-bearing sUSDS to its corporate treasury and approved sUSDS as collateral for institutional loans. Galaxy Digital clients can borrow against the asset while retaining exposure to the variable Sky Savings Rate. The move expands an existing relationship with Sky. Grove, part of the Sky ecosystem, provides Galaxy with a $500 million USDS-funded warehouse facility for digital-asset-backed loans. Galaxy also purchased an undisclosed amount of SKY, Sky’s governance token. Galaxy’s institutional trading business serves more than 1,600 counterparties and has an average loan book of about $1.4 billion. Sky’s sUSDS supply reached $5.52 billion by the end of the second quarter of 2026, up 149% year on year. The announcement briefly pushed SKY prices up by double digits. For traders, the approval of sUSDS as collateral is more significant than the treasury allocation because it could improve institutional adoption, liquidity and demand across the Sky ecosystem. Risks include variable yields, smart-contract exposure, Sky Protocol’s B- credit rating from S&P Global and Galaxy’s increasing concentration in Sky-related products.

Petrobras Tests Cardano for Sustainable Fuel Tracking

Petrobras, Brazil’s state-controlled energy company, is testing Cardano blockchain applications with the Cardano Foundation and Ledger Labs at PUC-Rio. The partnership builds on research that began in 2025 and expands Cardano’s enterprise and sustainability use cases in Brazil. One pilot tracks sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through production, distribution and environmental data. Its proposed Book-and-Claim system could turn verified certificates into transferable digital tokens and retire them after use, helping prevent double counting. A potential passenger tool could also estimate SAF allocations using routes, airports and emissions data. A second pilot covers Diesel R, Petrobras’ renewable-content diesel made from vegetable oils or animal fats. Cardano records would connect production, transport and end use, potentially helping companies verify supply-chain Scope 3 emissions. The projects strengthen Cardano’s real-world adoption narrative, but there is no confirmed commercial launch, ADA payment, token purchase or investment commitment. The news is therefore more relevant to Cardano’s long-term utility than to ADA’s immediate trading fundamentals.

CLARITY Act Failure Fuels Crypto Rally and Uncertainty

The US CLARITY Act failed to secure the 60 Senate votes needed to advance, triggering a stronger-than-expected crypto market response. Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan said the market may be better off without the CLARITY Act because its proposed compromises could have introduced new restrictions. In the three weeks after the 15 September Senate vote, Bitcoin (BTC) rose about 11% and Ethereum (ETH) gained roughly 12%. Hougan also cited a broader altcoin rally: NEAR rose 125%, Uniswap’s token (UNI) gained 49%, and Avalanche (AVAX) advanced 44%. Total crypto market capitalisation recovered from about $2.65 trillion to $2.95 trillion. The CLARITY Act could have restricted interest or rewards on stablecoin balances, created a national licensing system for spot crypto exchanges and limited platforms that combine exchange and brokerage services. With the CLARITY Act stalled, firms such as Coinbase and Kraken can continue operating under the existing framework, including stablecoin yield products for now. The setback was followed by more flexible regulatory action. The SEC introduced a five-year innovation exemption for certain blockchain-based trading of tokenised US stocks and clarified that announcing a buyback for an established crypto network does not automatically make its token an investment contract. Strategy co-founder Michael Saylor also urged crypto firms to develop compliant products under existing rules rather than accept restrictive legislative compromises. The CLARITY Act failure is a mildly bullish short-term signal for crypto prices, as traders avoided potentially restrictive rules. However, the sector remains dependent on agency guidance rather than durable legislation. A future SEC or CFTC leadership change could reverse the current approach, leaving long-term compliance and market-structure risks elevated.

Anthropic IPO Odds Rise to 82% for 2026

Polymarket odds now imply an 82% chance that artificial intelligence company Anthropic will launch an initial public offering (IPO) in 2026. This is a sharp increase from an earlier 35% probability for a listing by 15 November 2026. The prediction market reflects trader expectations, not a confirmed Anthropic IPO plan. A “Yes” outcome requires Anthropic shares to be officially listed and available for trading by the specified deadline. An acquisition by a listed company would result in “No”. Settlement would rely mainly on Anthropic announcements, stock exchange notices and US Securities and Exchange Commission filings, including S-1 and 8-A documents. No listing date, valuation or exchange has been announced. Traders should monitor official statements and regulatory filings, while recognising that Polymarket odds can change quickly.

BMNR Ethereum Treasury and Staking Strategy Gain Momentum

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) is being positioned as an Ethereum treasury and staking company as ETH prices recover. Its valuation thesis combines exposure to Ethereum, staking yield and a potential discount to the net value of its crypto holdings. An earlier analysis estimated that investors were effectively buying about $1 of ETH for roughly $0.92 at an enterprise value near $10 billion. The company reportedly holds about 6 million ETH and generates more than $100 million in quarterly staking revenue, although these figures have not been independently verified. Staking margins were previously estimated at about 87%, with potential annual income of up to roughly $380 million if the strategy is fully deployed. BMNR’s MAVAN validator network could expand institutional Ethereum staking services and create revenue beyond its crypto assets. However, traders should monitor ETH price volatility, share dilution, ETH per share, staking economics and MAVAN revenue recognition. GAAP earnings may also appear weak because unrealised crypto losses can flow through the income statement under newer accounting rules. BMNR and Ethereum reportedly remain about 50% below last year’s highs. If the Ethereum rally continues and BMNR maintains its ETH exposure per share, the treasury discount could narrow. Conversely, renewed ETH weakness, dilution or execution problems could pressure BMNR and reduce investor demand for Ethereum-related equities.

The release candidate is intended for developers, node operators and infrastructure providers to test software stability, identify bugs and verify compatibility. It is not recommended for immediate production deployment. The Bitcoin Core update does not change Bitcoin’s monetary policy or network rules. Traders should monitor developer feedback, node adoption, compatibility or security issues, and the timing of the final Bitcoin Core release. The update is more relevant to long-term network development than to Bitcoin’s immediate price direction.

OUSD Launches Across Four Chains With $1B Liquidity

Open Standard has launched Open USD (OUSD), a dollar-backed stablecoin, on Ethereum, Solana, Base and Tempo. Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe and Visa have committed more than $1 billion in future liquidity support, while Open Standard expects its founding group to expand from five companies to 10–12. OUSD is issued by Bridge and supports fee-free, one-to-one minting and redemption through partner integrations. The stablecoin is designed for banking, cross-border payments, card settlement, institutional trading, lending and DeFi. Open Standard plans to share most reserve income with businesses that drive adoption and link partner rewards and future ownership to OUSD supply growth and transaction activity. Chainlink is OUSD’s official oracle provider. Its price feeds could support lending, trading, collateral, margin products and other DeFi applications. Aave Labs has proposed listing OUSD on Aave V3 and the Aave V4 Core Hub, although collateral use, risk parameters and production oracle feeds remain subject to approval. OUSD reserves are held by BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY, with monthly attestations expected through Bridge. Stripe, BVNK and Visa’s Stablecoin Platform supported the launch, while Coinbase access was scheduled for 1 October. Coinbase, Kraken and Uniswap are expected to support OUSD trading. The network includes more than 200 companies, including UBS, SBI Holdings and Jeeves. For traders, OUSD adds an institutional stablecoin route across major networks and could compete with USDC and USDT. However, adoption, liquidity, regulatory restrictions, trading volume and reserve transparency remain key risks. Its initial impact on the stablecoin market and OUSD price is likely to remain limited until exchange liquidity and DeFi integration expand.

Poolin Texas Mining Auction Reopens at Up to $180M

Hut 8 initially won Poolin’s Texas mining assets with a bid valued at $140 million, but the Poolin Texas mining assets auction has now reopened after negotiations with a competing bidder failed. Hut 8’s affiliate remains the stalking-horse bidder with an offer worth up to $180 million: $100 million in cash at closing and up to $80 million in milestone payments for future AI, high-performance computing, cloud and hosting facilities. Crypto-mining-focused projects are excluded from the milestone payments. The auction is scheduled for 10am ET on 2 October, with competing bids due by noon ET on 1 October. Thor CALAP previously offered $180 million, narrowly exceeding Hut 8’s $179 million bid, but Poolin later returned to Hut 8, citing greater transaction certainty. If another buyer wins, Hut 8 will receive a $3 million termination fee and $250,000 in expenses. Poolin and its US affiliates filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on 22 July 2026, reporting about $173.1 million in liabilities. Around $163.7 million was unsecured debt owed to wallet users after withdrawals were suspended in 2022. The Poolin Texas mining assets auction could influence Hut 8’s data-centre expansion, but it does not directly affect Bitcoin supply, network activity or market liquidity.

Robinhood Launches Bitcoin and Ether Perpetual Futures

Robinhood has launched crypto perpetual futures for US customers, offering Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) contracts with leverage of up to 10x. The launch follows an earlier plan enabled by a no-action letter from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The service uses Bitstamp exchange infrastructure and Robinhood Derivatives. It gives retail and institutional traders access to 24/7 crypto derivatives, deeper Bitcoin liquidity, institutional block trading and sub-account controls. Robinhood is also exploring AI trading agents, tokenised stocks and round-the-clock financial markets. Robinhood said its leverage limits and transparency measures reflect lessons from the 2022 crypto market downturn. The Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures launch could increase trading activity and liquidity, but 10x leverage may also amplify volatility and liquidation risks. Traders should monitor funding rates, open interest, liquidation levels and BTC and ETH volatility.

Moca Chain Launches Mainnet for Digital Identity

Animoca Brands-backed Moca Foundation and Moca Network have launched the Moca Chain mainnet, a blockchain designed for decentralized digital identity and verifiable credentials. Moca Chain allows users to retain custody of verified credentials and share them across applications without repeatedly exposing sensitive personal data. Organizations can issue tamper-resistant credentials for identity checks, memberships and other verified attributes. Moca Network’s AIR infrastructure provides businesses with a unified access layer for onboarding users and AI agents. It is designed to let platforms issue or accept credentials from trusted providers while reducing data-storage and privacy risks. Moca Network said annual data-custody costs exceed $100 billion and that decentralized identity could become more important as AI agents conduct more online transactions. More than nine partners, including SK Planet, Biletinial, Oyunfor, Open Campus, OneFootball, Automobili Lamborghini, Inveo Kripto, Plume and Nansen, are expected to integrate AIR in 2026. The Moca Chain mainnet launch strengthens the project’s position in decentralized identity, AI agents and agentic commerce. However, the announcements provided no major token-economy changes, revenue figures, transaction data, locked value, exchange listings or confirmed user metrics. The immediate trading impact on MOCA is therefore likely to remain limited, while adoption and integration progress will be key longer-term indicators.
